Hi Pt Fan - thanks for asking... I think it's getting better slowly. Played a lot in the studio yesterday and feel a little tired today but I have specific finger exercises to do recommended by a hand physio - will get better.

Would love to do In The Attic but haven't been asked up there yet ;-(

Hope to see you online later!

Excellent eye catching Design Simon. I'm sure it will be a big seller.

Yea, the studio. I have been burnin' the studio candle all day and half the night working on my new songs. Don't know if you saw the song, "Ballerina Girl" (inspired by, who else? Ballerina Gurl.), while you were on my blog? That's the one taking the most time. It starts out in G#maj7. Quite a beautiful chord I think.

You going to see Dylan while he is there?

Keep on rockin'.

Peace, love and light to you and yours.

Say! If you are not on the show tomorrow night? How about stopping in Ballerina Gurl's chat? We all meet up there and watch the show together.I will be hosting the first hour. Can I announce that you will be our special guest?

Hi Storm - We didn't forget, really!! I'll get on the phone first thing in the morning and order up some really cute black shirts for you beauties out there.

Cheers Andy, Kara and Mike - cool that you got into 'Any Way She Moves' - Hope a few more dig it.

Joeboy - this hat is definitely a trademark but I need to get some more and believe me they ain't cheap. This has got Armani written on it, not that I like to wear designer stuff but it's just the only beanie I could find in the whole of London that I liked.

Hi Charlotte - 2 days running? Is that Cardiff and the WhoTV gig?

Hi Kid Ric - I should go see Dylan. He has been on TV a hell of a lot here recently and he just never ceases to amaze me with his lyrics and overall raw talent.

Hey Mike - wise words but I've got a dorker (stalker) who seems obsessed with me and I ain't gonna shake him off - I like the attention ;-)

Hey Dorker! Takes one to know one, eh! (I agree though, it's a shit pic and I will change asap).

Alianadrex, WhoRocks & Bblayla - Working on new concept for ladies wear. Thanks for the positive vibes.

Feel my heat!

Hi Molly - Sorry I couldn't make it to your chat room tonight - I was In The Attic as I'm sure you know.

Hi Gary - Got your comments and mentioned it earlier - I should play Until Tomorrow whenever I do a live show... it somehow connects and leaves a mark on people.

Finally Justin - good advice, working on the film clip, PTfan - hand is hurting a bit again after tonights show and RON - ORDERING INFO ON THE T_SHIRTS COMING SOON.

The Attic is fantastic, caught your new song, anyway she moves. Love it! Love your bro too! Does he still keep in touch with Dallas A. from CA? I've been a fan of The Who since I was a teen in the 80's. I also saw you perform for the Tommy show in L.A. sometime in the late 90's...YOU were fantastic! Best to you in this new venture!

Great Attic/WhoTV performance the other day. (actually, its only Rog that's caught a clog, and he was doing fine 'til then. Shame he stopped as well).
Where are you on the string weights ?
I prefer a wound 4th acoustic, but can't say I miss it if I play standard stuff, though I do find light E's annoying/tricky.

Simon, thanks for your appearance on In The Attic yesterday. Wanted to tell you I woke up with "When She Moves" on my brain this morning, followed me to work, and is currently playing in my head.

"Until Tomorrow" has a beautiful melody, and is another wonderful song, and I'm discovering a lot of them - man you sure can write. My favorite part is "get myself out of bed, keeping my eyes on my head".

Hi Simon,

Very cool T-shirt there!

Thanks a lot for the songs on In The Attic, both Sexchange and the new song on cd were really good to hear. The latter's a very cool, funky song.

Back to the new U2 DVD. Reminds me, Edge wears the beanie all the time and everywhere, so that definitely does not make a man worse!

Simon,

'Sex Change' on acoustic, brilliant. The look on Rachel's face when you sang the first line was priceless.
I heard you sing it at the Renfrew ferry in Glasgow and it's become a favourite, I downloaded the demo from the CC website.
What's the news on the album ?

Hi Storm - just to let you know that nice girlie shirts are on order now - especially for you.

Lisa - Thanks for the vibes! Hope you like more of the songs as much.

Hi Buck - we recut the track for legal reasons - modified Jam riff to be a bit more like Taxman which was where the Start riff was nicked from anyway. I played the Fields Of Fire (Big Country) riff as we have publishers permission to use the music.

Thanks Zoe - shirts will be on sale very soon. 'Is' album is going down well right now - hope you enjoy!

Thanks Belinda for the healing advice - this is what I have been told by physio, not mum.... unfortunately she is drunk under the table.

Hiya Donald - thanks for the support. Come see Casbah Club.

Hi Pendu - Demo version of Sex Change has been available as a free download. I have recorded it this week with Casbah Club and I'm so, so happy with it. Will be on sale soon.

Hi Sue - Any Way She Moves is the name of that song

Hey Ginab - What's your problem? Loads of bald shots on my website. www.simontownshend.com

Hey Alicia - Sweet Sound tour? You don't look old enough

ok Stef - 11-48 (plain 18 G str) on electric 12-52 (wound 22 G Str)Acoustic. Captain America look?? Like the sound of it though. Cheers

Any Way She Moves! "get myself out of bed, keeping my eyes UP AHEAD". Glad you appreciate the songs man!

Hey Susie - glad that you're so into the music and hubby too.

Maria - I like my beanie. I take it off in bed (most nights)

Hi Kenny - I heard Rachel's jaw dropped when I started playing Sex Change - then a big grin apparently. I didn't know what I was going to play - idea came to me last minute.... even shocked myself.

Later all you young dudes!

Simon, I like your hat too, but do you think it would be neat if you could make your own design to make for your hats and get them custom made. Heck, you say this hat is expensive, so maybe it would cost the same if you had something custom made. I don't know if you'd want your CC logo or if you wanted to get something just Simon-ish done on it. Just a thought.

You've been recording right? Does your hand bother you then too, just like In The Attic? Are you supposed to be playing guitar when this is healing or are you suppposed to stop for a while? If you are supposed to stop, this is certainly not a good time to heal up, with your tour coming up and all. And plus, playing guitar is probably like breathing to you. How COULD you stop for a while????

I saw the show for 2 minutes right when you came on but then I had to go.I will have to catch the loop soon as I hear people praising you for your songs. I can't wait!!!!!

Simon loved seeing you on in the Attic. Sex Change is a great song, I am a Who fan but am rapidly becoming a fan of your solo stuff.Besides your Who contributions all I have is "Among Us" but hope to get everything eventually.
I have always really liked Big Country as well and I love the "Fields of Fire" sample you used.
I have always thought Big Country were a band that were overlooked. I remember in the 80's collecting all their stuff and thinking they were as good as U2.
I really think you are holding your own as an artist, your ideas and lyrics are very strong no need to feel like your living in Pete's shadow.
Someday it would be cool to hear some kind of collaboration between you and Pete a "duet" or something!

Simon please don't get a sex change - there will be alot of disappointed female fans around here if you do!! :)

I understand the sentiment though. I LOVE Martha Wainwright, and in her song, "Bloody Motherfucking Asshole" (well, she has anger issues) she sings:
"I wish I was born a man, so I could learn how to stand up for myself - like those guys with guitars I've been watching in bars who've been stamping their feet to a different beat."
I think the coolest thing in the world is a guy wailing on electric guitar - especially if they're dressed in a dark suit with a skinny tie. I love that look. And I feel just like Martha (but I'm not butch or anything and neither is she!).

I know it baffles Pete that he has these crazed female Who fans, but maybe we were all angry, confused men in our last life! I am sure I was a man in my last life...when I was younger I just loved hanging with guys, but now that I'm a mom I also enjoy female company...plus if you're married, well, you better not be one of the boys!
OK I've rambled on enough now!

Hi Simon,

No intention of being a pest, but a question on a thing on your website. It says:

"Some LIVE and Unreleased Simon Townshend ...In a few days time, check back for the internet release of a spectacular LIVE Simon Townshend show, that will also include original cover art so you can burn and package your own CDR Copy!"

It has been saying that for a few weeks now so I was wondering if there is any schedule set for this?

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Hello Maria,

I will take a shot at answering your question about the live show availability . The site has been back for 2 - 3 weeks now. We, the website group Simon has kindly mentioned, are working on getting the first show available. It has taken us a little longer than expected, but we really want these free downloaded live shows to be special in quality. The outstanding performances demand this and would be wasted if we rushed to get inferior quality material onto the site.

The first show available will be The Simon Townshend Band (STB) Live from the Astoria from 1998.

This is a great show, many people's favorite and for me contains the definitive versions of Ecstasy Heaven and The Way It Is.

Our hope is to have it available by next weekend at the latest.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Lisa - a new recording of Sex Change will be available to buy soon - check in on the Casbah Club website for details... wouldn't wanna take the sting out of it by posting a demo now.

Thanks Meg - I'm very proud to have joined such a strong band and for them to want to play my songs -It's a great opportunity.

Hi ptfan - I am on a back to playing program right now - it's hard because I have to play at times, either for work or promo opportunities. I'm just taking it as easy as I can, exercising and following professional advice and I'm sure I'll be fine. I was assured by my physio that there is nothing seriously wrong which I am more than relieved about. Thanks for the concern. ST Hats?? Why not. I am sponsored by Merc Clothing London at the moment so wear as much of there stuff as poss - just don't like their hats, hence the Armani.

Hey Fitzbath - My brother Paul, Pete and I were days away from a recording session where the three of us for the first time were collaborating on material. We had some interesting songs, one of mine, Flame, made it onto a PT solo album. Unfortunately Pete had an accident falling off his bike and damaged his wrist and the project was postponed and never rekindled. Maybe next year we always say.

Cheers Mark t, Among Us is my pride and Joy album.

Hi Sue - The power of a woman, eh!

Hi Maria - Bill has answered your question. Therewill be live shows available, Animal Soup from Astoria is first up. Sorry to keep you waiting.

No probs getting lyrics wrong Gary - I do it all the time ;-)

Cheers for helping me out Bill - You're a star!

If I missed anyone - SHOUT!

Hope you are well and my last post I erased, was adding something and got sidetracked and forgot to repost...so I don't remember what it said sorry...but your music sounds great and my best friend Tracy said hello and she likes the music too!

And I'm ecstatic it includes Time Is The Healer, this song really helped me the past month, thank you so much for that.

Good morning Simon,
What made you decide to quit drinking and then smoking? Was it hard for you or once you made the decision, it was a done deal? "No More Never" has to do with that, eh? Did you know that that song has a very Peteish feel to it? Some bass parts and some other sounds instantly make me think of a Pete song. Maybe it's from Iron Man, I'm not for sure which song or where as I haven't made the time to investigate myself. Do you know what I am talking about?

Hey Tone - thanks for that! By the way everyone.... check out Tony's blog and website. Tony is a good mate of mine and a wicked guitarist, plays on a few of my recordings.

Hi Mike - I'd love a copy. Could you send it to Stir Music in Connecticut for me? Thanks so much.

Hi Jack - glad you like my voice. It took me years to develop to get rid of the nasal tones I was gifted with.

Hi pyfan - No More Never, I thought was a bit McCartneyish but whatever, Peteish is cool too. Yeah, it's all about booze and dope addiction.

Hi Chris - Probably play Comeback, Way It is, Girl In New York and Sex Change. Not sure about On The Beach on acoustic - good tune though.

Hey John - Good to hear from you. Love to you, Brooke and kiddies.

Hi Marrieta - Digging the music, eh? Good to hear.

Mr Bonfire Jones... I'm The Answer?? Yes, indeed you need to catch up. Visit my website - loadsa music there.

Thanks Dave & Corie - I am happy with the website, love playing In The Attic and can't wait to hit the road in December supporting Quo with Casbah. Life is good.

Peiter - A European tour? Yes please. Can you arrange it? Have the the means to get us there and pay us tons of money to do what we enjoy doing? Is this an offer I should take seriously?? Actually, would love to play Europe in April / May next year.

Hi Ginab - didn't mean to be abrupt - Hats or no hats are good.... I go both ways ;-)

AndyW - maybe I'll do I'm The Answer this week. There are still loads of songs I haven't aired yet and as the whole seies is coming out on DVD I may aswell play other stuff (played I'm The Answer already In The Attic)

Hey Turtle - I have plenty of caps but you can't hsave 'em!

SteveH - Bruce? Blogging? Hmmm... not sure... I'll pass on your request but don't hold your breath.

Bye - until tomorrow! xxx
